Copa Sudamericana 2026 draw date confirmed, pots set and qualifiers finalised

Copa Sudamericana 2026 is set, with the 32-team field now complete after Juventud of Uruguay were knocked out by Independiente Medellín in the Libertadores third phase. According to Globo.com, the draw will be held on Thursday 19 at 20:00 Brasília time at Conmebol’s headquarters in Luque, Paraguay, alongside the Libertadores draw.
Brazil have seven representatives, Atlético-MG, São Paulo, Grêmio, Santos, Red Bull Bragantino, Vasco and Botafogo. Based on Conmebol’s club ranking, Atlético-MG, São Paulo, Grêmio and Santos are in pot one.
Red Bull Bragantino and Vasco are placed in pot two. Botafogo, eliminated in the Libertadores preliminaries by Barcelona de Guayaquil, are in pot four and can face a domestic opponent in the group phase.
Pot one also features River Plate, Racing, Olimpia and América de Cali.
Pot two includes San Lorenzo, Palestino, Millonarios, Caracas, Cienciano and Tigre.
Pot three contains Audax Italiano, Blooming, Academia Puerto Cabello, Boston River, Montevideo City Torque, Deportivo Cuenca, Independiente Petrolero and Macará.
Pot four comprises Alianza Atlético, Barracas Central, Deportivo Riestra, Recoleta, Botafogo, Carabobo, O’Higgins and Juventud de Las Piedras. Botafogo, Carabobo, O’Higgins and Juventud de Las Piedras are eligible to face teams from their own country.
Group fixtures span six rounds across April and May. Play-offs are on 21-23 and 28-30 July, the last 16 on 11-13 and 18-20 August, quarter-finals in September, semi-finals in October, and the final on 21 November.
