Ramazani’s fitness
We shouldn't be thinking about the match against Sevilla FC; we need to focus on the Copa del Rey game. He completed training yesterday, and if all goes well, he'll start. The player with the most doubts is Tárrega, due to fatigue and discomfort, and we'll make the best possible decision for the team.
Bringing youth players in
Some players from VCF Mestalla will be called up; I still have today's training session in which to assess the players' condition. We place the utmost importance on tomorrow's match, and I can say that Dimitrievski will be in goal.
For Valencia CF, the academy has continues to be extremely important. The relationship with Angulo and the various people in charge is carefully maintained, and that's how we work. Regarding who will be called up, it will depend on the analysis we do today. We're in a week with many games, and each day provides a clear picture of how the players are performing.
Danjuma’s form
He's a crucial player, as his performance demonstrates. He's very eager to work, improve, and train. I've been very impressed by the level of ambition he shows every day. He's someone who strives to improve, is always open to doing so, and sometimes even takes the initiative. Working with players who have that level of ambition is positive because it raises the team's overall level.
Hugo Duro’s reaction to his substitution against Rayo Vallecano
I understand the frustration you can feel when you're in a game and things aren't going your way; it speaks of the ambition we all have. We have to be able to manage our emotions, and that means putting that frustration aside and transforming it into desire and a strong will for things to go well. The rest is about managing the emotions that arise.
Dimitrieveski’s situation
I didn't diminish the significance of the incident; he did. He apologised to the dressing room because he understood that making that statement was a mistake. The dressing room expressed their feelings, he expressed his, and it resulted in a fine for him. You can’t also impose a sporting sanction; the team's internal code of conduct was applied, and he will play tomorrow. He's a first-team player, and I've always said that I want starting goalkeepers of that calibre. Tomorrow, one of our goalkeepers will start.
A chance for Ugrinic
If today's training session goes well, he'll start tomorrow; he's been showing improvement. The discomfort he has will be there for a while, but he's tolerating work on the pitch better, he's getting better, and it's a good time for him to get more playing time and be ready to help the team.
How Valencia CF approach the Copa del Rey
We approach this and every competition with the utmost seriousness. For Valencia CF, playing in the Copa del Rey is never a chore. We must use this opportunity to continue growing, taking further steps forward, and reach our full potential. We face it with enthusiasm, responsibility, and seriousness.
The trickiness of the game
It's a competitive and demanding game. Most of the FC Cartagena players have significant experience in the Segunda División, and some even in the Primera División. Historically, they're a second tier team, not a First Division RFEF outfit. It's going to be a tough game, and we're approaching it with the utmost ambition.
Valencia CF’s failure to come back from behind in the last 96 league games
First and foremost, winning is the ultimate goal, regardless of whether you start out by winning or not; what matters is the victory and the final result. I'm particularly impressed with the team's mental reaction the other day, and their overall performance. There are two possibilities: that the difficulty overwhelms you, or that you overcome it. The team overcame the difficulty. The result was the draw and some moves that made us feel we were close to achieving something more. The fact that the team have the emotional capacity to overcome opponents that do many things well -and whom I respect- is a very positive sign.
FC Cartagena
FC Cartagena are a very cohesive team, who play a lot of passes, are well organised and have a disciplined defence. They have a side built to be contenders in their league. They have a solid defensive structure, and we want to approach the match in the best possible way, by working hard and competing effectively.
Knowledge of the Spanish transfer market
As the coach, I have complete confidence that the club have put together the structure they believe is most appropriate. This isn't the time to make an assessment on that; it will have to be done based on what the structure contributes. I'll leave the job to the people who are responsible for coordinating it.
Playing three games in six days
It's the reality. To be honest, I agree with those who argue that there should be 72 hours between fixtures; it's essential for the players' wellbeing. We need to carefully consider what to do to help us manage the week effectively. This is the first time we're going to play two matches in less than 72 hours; I've never experienced anything like it. It's going to be a demanding week in terms of effort, and we have to be mindful of many aspects because we want to organise the week as well as possible. We need to be careful about details like which day we travel, whether we sleep in a hotel, whether we sleep at home… It's very demanding.
