Continuing as coach

I'm not the one who decides on a coach. Nobody shouldn't ask me that question. I can tell you that we're hurting from this result, which was completely undeserved. Valencia CF didn't deserve to lose at any point; I'd say that we deserved to win, but we weren't clinical enough to secure the victory. We lost a centre back, who was lying on the ground, we didn't stop play, and with one less player, we gave Elche CF the only chance they had to score. Despite that, Valencia CF did enough to deserve a better result, which I'm sure would have changed how we all feel now. Make no mistake, the coach is just as hurt as anyone. There's nothing left for us to do but face up to this situation.

Elche CF's goal

With the Elche CF goal: The situation wasn't handled well. We had the opportunity to commit a foul or kick the ball out of play, but we didn't. That's how Elche CF scored, even though Valencia CF had enjoyed more chances and had been the better team.

The calendar

We have 35 points and we need to get more to guarantee the team's place in the Primera División next season. Having 35 isn't enough, and that's the team's short-term mentality.

Analysis of the game

I think we struggled to understand the game in the first half, but even so, we had the clearest chances with a cross from Luis Rioja and a shot from Lucas Beltrán. We played in our own half too much. We adjusted things at halftime, and then we created chances and were the better side -despite the final score. We knew how demanding the match would be, and at times we responded appropriately to the challenge.

Sadiq's substitution

We felt it was the right decision at that point in the game. Every decision is debatable and can be evaluated, but we continued playing with two strikers, in Lucas Beltrán and Hugo Duro, we created danger, and I was very pleased with the contribution from the entire bench.
