Matthew Polinsky is better known by his ring name, Corey Graves. He is a former wrestler, a columnist and a commentator. In terms of accolades, Graves is a former NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Adrian Neville.

Graves began his wrestling career in 2000 and appeared for various promotions during this period. During that time, he won the Tag Team Championship partnering Chris Cage.

NXT titles and more

Prior to signing a contract with the WWE, Corey made several appearances with the company.

He signed a contract in 2011 and began working in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) under the name Corey Graves. During his tenure there, he won the Tag Team Championship with Jake Carter. FCW was later rebranded to NXT, and he participated in the inaugural tapings.

In 2013, he challenged Seth Rollins for the NXT Championship. Sadly, interference from The Shield put paid to his chances. He transitioned to a feud with the group, and later began feuding with The Wyatt Family and their leader Bray Wyatt.

He also teamed up with Kassius Ohno, Adrian Neville on separate occasions, leading them to win the NXT Tag Team Championship.

They held it for three months before losing to The Ascension. He then had a feud with Neville and suffered two concussions within the next few months, which led him to his absence from television for an extended period.

In 2014, Graves announced that he was officially retiring due to concussion issues. He joined the NXT commentary team and was added to the pre-show panel for Raw.

He became a colour commentator for Raw, though still providing commentary for NXT, until “NXT Takeover: San Antonio”.

In Raw, he worked with Byron Saxton and Michael Cole and joined the commentary team for 205 Live alongside Mauro Ranallo.

The former wrestler is known for his tattoos too and worked as an apprentice as a piercer.

Graves got a couple of his tattoos when he was just 16 and inked both arms when he became 18.

The WWE commentator’s tattoos seem to be linked and are very complex. His neck also features tattoos on his neck and his knuckles.

Graves was married to Amy Schneider, a professional dancer, and they have three children together.

The WWE star also has a younger brother, Sam, who wrestlers for a Mexican promotion.

In 2019, Schneider posted an image of Graves and WWE Diva Carmella claiming the commentator cheated on her but took the image down (h/t Pop Culture).

Graves isn’t with Schneider anymore were already taking up the divorce process. Carmella and the WWE commentator have been seen in recent episodes of Total Divas which has seen them talk about their relationship a lot more.

Carmella even posted an image of the pair going on a first date, and it seems they are ready to take their relationship to the next level.
