Corinthians and Santos agree to share Vila Belmiro and Neo Química

Corinthians and Santos have reached an agreement regarding the use of their stadiums due to adjustments in the Brazilian football calendar. Timão has a scheduled match against Velo Clube at Benitão on the 25th, for the Campeonato Paulista, and would then face Bahia at the Neo Química Arena on the 29th, for the Campeonato Brasileiro. Meanwhile, Flamengo, Corinthians' opponent in the Supercopa do Brasil final, plays on the 28th in São Paulo.

The Supercopa final is set for February 1st at Mané Garrincha Stadium (Brasília), which would mean Corinthians would arrive at the final with one less day of rest, since they would play on the 29th against Bahia, while Flamengo’s last match would be on the 28th against São Paulo at MorumBIS.

To equalize the recovery time between the teams, Corinthians requested that the CBF move the match against Bahia from the 29th to the 28th, so that both finalists would have the same rest interval before the Supercopa final.

However, the city of São Paulo already has other clubs' matches scheduled for that date, making it impossible to hold two games on the same day in the capital. Therefore, Corinthians and Santos reached a logistical agreement:

Santos will face Red Bull Bragantino at the Neo Química Arena on the 25th;
In return, Corinthians will host the match against Bahia at Vila Belmiro on the 28th.

Corinthians will play at Vila on the 28th, since in the capital, São Paulo will host Flamengo on the same date. The Parque São Jorge club formally requested to the CBF to play at their Baixada Santista rival’s stadium and was granted permission by the entity, which has already made the change official.

The change aims, on Corinthians' part, to ensure sporting fairness in the Supercopa do Brasil final, so that Corinthians and Flamengo arrive at the decision with the same period of rest before the match scheduled for February 1st, while Santos meets its interest in playing in the capital to obtain greater revenue.

Corinthians and Santos have already made a similar agreement in 2024. On that occasion, for the Campeonato Paulista, Santos played at the Neo Química Arena against Red Bull Bragantino, in a match marked by a series of damages to bathrooms, seats, and areas around the Casa do Povo by Santos fans. At the time, the Vila Belmiro club covered the full costs of repairs and restorations.
