Corinthians announce new contract add-on for youth team star

Corinthians officially announced a contractual amendment in the agreement between the club and Iago Machado, one of the standout players in the under-17 category this past season. Born in 2009, he has a contract until April 2008, which means the change was only in salary and, consequently, the release clause.

“We have several players from the youth academy in the professional team. Our role is to provide conditions for the players to develop and reach the senior team. The management's goal is to prepare, reveal, and value, and with Iago, who is one of the most promising talents in our academy, it couldn't be different”, said Osmar Stabile about the decision.

According to Meu Timão, the release clause for Brazilian clubs to buy the player has risen to R$ 66 million, more than five times the previous clause, which was only R$ 12 million. For international clubs, the amount is set at 100 million euros.

Even as a defender, he was the third top scorer of the team led by Raphael Laruccia in 2025. Additionally, he was the player with the most appearances in the season, with 38 games played.
