Corinthians announce starting XI for Paulistão quarter-final v Portuguesa

Corinthians visits Portuguesa this Sunday night (22nd), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), at Canindé Stadium, in a single-match quarterfinal of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista. After finishing the first phase with the fifth-best campaign, the Alvinegro seeks to advance to the semifinals, where they will face Novorizontino or Palmeiras – in both cases, away from home.

The Corinthians coaching staff, led by Dorival Júnior, will not be able to count on the following players for tonight’s match: defender Cacá (close to being announced by Vitória), left-back Hugo Farias (right knee surgery), midfielder José Martínez (about to terminate his contract; suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee), midfielder Matheus Pereira (discomfort in his left thigh), as well as forwards Kaio César (right hamstring injury) and Yuri Alberto (grade 2 muscle injury).

On the other hand, the main news is the return of left-back Fabrizio Angileri, who was undergoing physical reconditioning, to the bench, as well as midfielder Breno Bidon, fully recovered from a muscle injury suffered in the Derby on February 8th, in Itaquera, during the state championship.

Thus, Corinthians is lined up as follows to start the match: Hugo Souza; Matheuzinho, André Ramalho, Gustavo Henrique, Matheus Bidu; Raniele, Allan, André Luiz, and Breno Bidon; Memphis Depay and Gui Negão. The bench options are: Felipe Longo, João Pedro Tchoca, Gabriel Paulista, Pedro Milans, Fabrizio Angileri, Charles, André Carrillo, Dieguinho, Rodrigo Garro, Kayke, Vitinho, and Pedro Raul.

After facing Portuguesa at Canindé in the quarterfinals of the Campeonato Paulista, Corinthians will shift focus back to the Brasileirão. Next Wednesday (25th), at 8 PM (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will face Cruzeiro at Mineirão, in a match valid for the fourth round of the national competition.
