Corinthians appoint new directors for four club departments, see who’s in

Corinthians announced this Monday (15) the appointment of Rafael Castilho, Fábio Carrenho, Herói Vicente, and Fabrício Vicentim as new directors initiated at the club after the election of Osmar Stabile for a stopgap term until 2026. They have taken over, respectively, the Cultural, Social, Expansion, Innovation and Business and Deputy of Youth Football directorates.

The club's note was accompanied by four documents signed by Stabile, each formalizing one of the appointments, introducing the new directors, justifying the choices of names and detailing the scope of work of the positions.

Except for the directorate granted to Herói Vicente, which did not exist in the administration, the other positions have been vacant since the impeachment of Augusto Melo, because, according to the alvinegro statute, the directorate of a deposed administration is considered resigning, up to the new president to reappoint or not its occupants to the posts - only the director of Terrestrial Sports Marco Polo Lopes Pinheiro was maintained.

The Central do Timão had already anticipated Rafael Castilho for the cultural directorate, which includes the Department of Social Responsibility, the Memorial and the Corinthians Theater. A sociologist with a specialization in International Public Management and Policies and International Relations, Castilho has been a club member since 1994, founder of the Corinthians Studies Center (NECO) and a triennial advisor since 2021, currently in his second term for Chapa 82.

Fábio Carrenho, 44, takes over the direction of the Social department. Graduated in Advertising and Marketing from Paulista University, he is a businessman in the textile industry and has been a club member since childhood. Former advisor for three terms, he is also currently part of Chapa 82, linked to the Corinthians Grande Movement.

The other two names had already participated in previous Corinthians administrations. Herói Vicente became known for his participation in the Duilio Monteiro Alves administration as legal director between 2021 and June 2023. Politically, however, he is considered independent, having opposed the Renovation and Transparency, even proposing the removal of Andrés Sanchez from the presidency in 2019.

Fabrício Vicentim acted as deputy director of Aquatic Sports between 2018 and 2020 in Andrés' administration, returning to the directorate four years later after the election of Augusto Melo, as deputy director of the base, indicated by the Corinthians Grande Movement (Chapa 82). He would leave the position five months later, however, citing "personal problems", and now returns to the position by Stabile's determination.

Before Tuesday's appointments, Stabile had already appointed Emerson Piovezan to the Finance department; Fábio Soares Souza to the Administrative Direction; Carlos Roberto Auricchio to the Direction of Youth Football; Antonio Goulart dos Reis to the Direction of Institutional Relations; Marcelo Munhoes to the Direction of Technology; and Pedro Luis Soares to the Direction of Legal Business.

With this, only the Marketing, Heritage and Works, Aquatic Sports and Professional Football departments remain without statutory directorate. Although they do not have directors, some of these sectors have professionals in paid positions. The football executive Fabinho Soldado, for example, does not hold a statutory position, just like the marketing superintendent Vinicius Manfredi de Azevedo.
