Corinthians arrive in Rio with full squad for Copa do Brasil final

On the afternoon of this Sunday (21), at 6 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians will face Vasco da Gama at Maracanã for the second leg of the Copa do Brasil final. In the first leg, at Neo Química Arena, both teams drew 0-0. If there's another draw, the decision will go to penalties.

Early Saturday evening (20), the Corinthians squad arrived in Rio de Janeiro with 30 players, meaning no absences and everyone available to coach Dorival Júnior. According to ge.globo, midfielder Maycon is expected to take Rodrigo Garro's spot in the starting lineup, joining the midfield alongside Raniele, José Martínez, and Breno Bidon, who will play more advanced.

Thus, according to the portal, Corinthians is expected to start the match with the following lineup: Hugo Souza; Matheuzinho, André Ramalho, Gustavo Henrique, and Matheus Bidu; Raniele, José Martínez, Maycon, and Breno Bidon; Memphis Depay and Yuri Alberto.

To win the tournament, Corinthians relies on the fact that they have not been defeated away from home in the Copa do Brasil. In the third phase, they triumphed over Novorizontino 1-0. In the round of 16, they won 2-0 against Palmeiras at Allianz Parque. In the following stage and the semifinal, against Athletico-PR and Cruzeiro respectively, they won by a score of 1-0.

In the 2025 Copa do Brasil, Corinthians has already dispatched Novorizontino (third phase), Palmeiras (round of 16), Athletico-PR (quarterfinals), and Cruzeiro (semifinal). In total, there have been nine matches, with seven wins, one draw, and one loss – 10 goals scored and two conceded.

Three-time Copa do Brasil champion (1995, 2002, and 2009), Corinthians is seeking their fourth title after 16 years. Since then, they have been runners-up twice (2018 and 2022) and reached the semifinals twice (2023 and 2024).
