Corinthians are assessing candidates to replace Lucas Piccinato as women’s head coach after his dismissal early on Saturday, which followed a 2-2 draw with Fluminense at Neo Química Arena in the second round of the Brasileiro.

According to Meu Timao, at least three options are under internal review. Lance! reports that Emilly Lima, unattached, and Bahia coach Felipe Freitas are among them, with Freitas recently extending his deal to 2026.

A third candidate, Brazilian former player Marcelo Frigerio, born in Italy, is also being discussed, with Fut das Minas reporting interest.

Emilly Lima, 45, has been out of work since October 2025 after leaving Levante. Ogol states she oversaw 11 matches there, with 10 defeats and one draw.

Felipe Freitas, 41, has led Bahia since August 2024. He took the first North East side into the Brasileirão Feminino knockouts, losing to Corinthians in the quarter-finals, and reached the Copa do Brasil semi-finals.

In 2024 he won a fifth Bahia state title and finished Ladies Cup runners-up. Ogol lists 57 matches under him, with 41 wins, four draws and 12 defeats.

Frigerio, 55, took Pumas to the play-offs in Clausura 2024 and twice more afterwards, but not beyond the quarter-finals. He left in November 2025 after 70 games, posting 32 wins, 12 draws and 26 losses.
