Corinthians are awaiting Caixa's valuation of Neo Química Arena, considered vital to fresh debt negotiations and a possible naming rights change. The liability is estimated at R$ 660 million.

According to Globo.com, president Osmar Stabile met Caixa Econômica Federal executives on Monday to discuss the stadium debt, and the state bank asked for more time to deliver the valuation.

Since last year, the current board has sought new commercial partners to assume the stadium's naming rights, which are held by Hypera Pharma. One option discussed is to replace the agreement within the parameters of the valuation that Caixa will present.

For that to happen, Corinthians would need interested partners and would also have to meet the termination penalty in the Hypera Pharma deal.

Some directors are confident the change could bring the club very close to settling the debt. Talks are being led exclusively by Stabile.
