Corinthians have started replacing the Neo Química Arena pitch during the World Cup break, a day after Brazil’s women played a friendly against the United States at the venue.
According to Globo.com, work began on Sunday and covers cleaning the surface and brushing the synthetic fibres.

A layer of sand will then be applied to level the pitch before the seeding of new grass.
The stadium will be without matches for around 50 days.
Fernando Diniz’s team are due back in Itaquera in the week of 22 July to face Remo in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
