Corinthians begin Santos build-up with Kaio César and Yuri Alberto in training | OneFootball

Corinthians returned to training on Thursday at CT Joaquim Grava as they began preparations to face Santos, with Yuri Alberto and Kaio César on the pitch.

According to Globo.com, the staff are hopeful of having the number 9 available for the next fixture. The match is at 16:00 Brasília time on Sunday at Vila Belmiro, in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Only reserves and players who featured for fewer than 45 minutes in the defeat to Coritiba on Wednesday trained on the grass, while the rest carried out recovery work. Midfielder André Carrillo, who came on in the second half against Coritiba, stayed indoors.

Dorival Júnior led an attack-versus-defence drill and a small-sided 10 v 10 on a reduced pitch. The squad will train again on Friday morning.

Corinthians sit eighth in the Brasileirão on seven points and are winless in four matches this season.
