Corinthians confirm and register new left-back for the Under-20s

On the afternoon of Wednesday (4), Corinthians made official and registered, in the CBF’s Daily Information Bulletin (BID), the arrival of left-back João Vitor, 18 years old, born in 2007, who was previously at Athletico-PR. The young player joins the Under-20 team and will compete for a spot with Guilherme Pires, a midfielder who has been playing out of position in the role, since the category, until now, did not have a specialist for the position.

Last month, the left-back had already said his goodbyes to Athletico-PR on social media. João Vitor arrives with a three-season contract, that is, until July 2029. Born in Curitiba, the left-back stood out for Furacão’s Under-17 and was then promoted to the Under-20, where he scored one goal in 22 matches. During the team’s campaign in the 2026 Copinha, he was a starter.

With Athletico-PR, he was state champion at both Under-17 and Under-20 levels, and also won the Copa Sul Under-20 twice. In 2025, he was used more in the Campeonato Paranaense than in the Under-20 Brasileirão, playing in seven matches during the regional title campaign. During this period, he played in five consecutive games, starting two of them – both for the full 90 minutes.

So far, in addition to João Vitor, Corinthians has already secured the following reinforcements for the Under-20 category: defenders Zé Antônio (Santa Cruz), Iago Melo (Flamengo), Levy Dias (Flamengo), midfielder Christian Oliveira (Flamengo), and Ryan Evaristo (Boa Vista).
