Corinthians’ deliberative council will on Monday night vote on the possible expulsion of Andrés Sanchez over alleged misuse of a corporate card between 2018 and 2021.

According to Meu Timao, council president Leonardo Pantaleão will chair proceedings at the Teatro do Parque São Jorge, with councillors to rule on his opinion urging expulsion over alleged personal spending on the corporate card.

Internal probes began in August last year and led to an Ethics and Discipline Commission opinion in April. In October, São Paulo prosecutors accused Sanchez of embezzlement, money laundering and falsifying a tax document.

The 2nd Court for Tax Crimes, Criminal Organisation and Money Laundering initially threw out the laundering and falsification counts, but that decision was stayed after the prosecution sought the judge’s recusal alleging partiality.

Investigators list over 200 expenses across 31 statements from August 2018 to February 2021. Prosecutors seek reimbursement of about R$ 480,000 plus moral damages of 75%, taking the claim beyond R$ 1.1 million.

The first call is set for 18:00, the second for 19:00. After the ethics report and an oral defence, councillors will vote on expulsion, alternative sanctions or archiving. An open, roll-call vote is expected.

Non-councillors, media, directors, statutory officers, guests and supporters will be barred from the venue. The club will not broadcast the vote.

A peaceful protest at Parque São Jorge is planned from 16:00 by six organised supporter groups. Their note cited a R$ 2.7 billion debt and transfer bans since 2025.
