Corinthians delay first-half bonuses as wages and image rights go unpaid | OneFootball

Corinthians have yet to pay first-half bonuses promised to the squad, while June image rights and this month's wages remain outstanding. The club are prioritising clearing image rights arrears and paying the CLT wages before addressing bonuses.

Ge.globo reports that the monthly CLT salary was not paid on Friday, with a pledge to settle it on Monday, the day after facing Red Bull Bragantino.

Players have been waiting for several weeks for two agreed awards, arranged by president Osmar Stabile with senior players at the start of the season, for the Libertadores group stage and the first round of the Brasileirão. The total value is unknown.

Corinthians topped Group E in the Libertadores, securing a last-16 tie against Argentina's Rosario Central on 13 and 20 August.

In the Brasileirão, Fernando Diniz's side finished the opening half in seventh with 27 points from 19 matches. They are currently ninth on 29 points.

The club are also dealing with three transfer bans, two from FIFA and one from the CBF, totalling about R$ 21.9 million in liabilities. The most recent, on 21 July, concerns roughly R$ 6.2 million owed for the signing of midfielder Charles. Another FIFA ban was issued on 21 May over the arrival of José Martínez, while the CBF imposed a further block on the 18th for late payment of around R$ 8 million tied to the fifth instalment of a CNRD agreement.
