Corinthians draw Palmeiras in Paulista Women's U20 quarter-final first leg

On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 8, Corinthians hosted Palmeiras at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the São Paulo Women's U-20 Championship and drew 1-1. The Corinthians goal was scored by Raíssa. With this result, the Brabinhas need a win by any score in the return match to advance in the tournament.

The first half was intense and full of excitement. Although Palmeiras started better, it was Corinthians who opened the scoring with a stunning goal from Raíssa. Near the end of the half, however, Ana Júlia scored for the rival after a mistake by the Brabinhas' defense, leaving the game tied.

In the second half, the pace dropped and both teams posed little threat to the opposing goal, despite Corinthians' dominance. Goalkeeper Bruna Hirata shone for Palmeiras, making important saves and preventing her team from losing to the Brabinhas' attacks.

To start the match, coach Bia Vaz lined up the following team: Sophia Trindade; Rafa Rocha, Brunna, Dany Pereira, and Manu Olivan; Helô Camargo, Gaby Tomé, and Gabi Pires; Raíssa, Ester, and Rayane.

The bench had the following options: Rillary, Rafa Rodrigues, Lara Mel, Emelym, Dafhiny, Gabi Jordi, Mel, Manu Teixeira, and Júlia Romero. Now, the club from Parque São Jorge will return to the field next Wednesday, the 15th, at 3:00 PM (Brasília time), to face Palmeiras again in the second leg of the quarterfinals.
