Corinthians slipped to ninth in the Brasileirão Feminino after a 3-2 derby defeat on Wednesday, leaving them on four points in Emily Lima’s first match in charge.

As reported by Meu Timao, most of the third round concluded on Saturday. Before kick-off, a win would have taken Corinthians level with Santos, Cruzeiro and Flamengo, who drew this round, then Fluminense joined that group with a Thursday victory. They began the round fifth but were overtaken by Santos, Ferroviária, Fluminense and Internacional.

Palmeiras lead with nine points and a perfect record. Behind them are Santos, Cruzeiro, Flamengo and Fluminense on seven. Santos and Cruzeiro have identical goal difference and goals scored, while Flamengo have scored one fewer and Fluminense are two off on difference. São Paulo and Ferroviária have six, the latter beat the former on Saturday yet remain behind on goal difference. Internacional complete the top eight on four, ahead of Corinthians on difference.

The Brabas have beaten Atlético Mineiro, drawn with Bahia and lost to Palmeiras, a 44 percent return. The league is a single round robin of 17 rounds, the top eight advance and the bottom two are relegated to Série A2. Points continue to be counted from the quarter-finals, influencing home advantage and the draw.

The round is set to conclude with Bahia v Vitória at 21:00 on Monday. Corinthians face América Mineiro at 21:00 on Monday 23 March in round four, with the venue yet to be confirmed.
