Corinthians duo shake up rankings, Memphis climbs scorers list

Corinthians faced Cruzeiro at Mineirão Stadium on the night of last Wednesday (10), in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinals, and won by a score of 1-0. With this result, the Alvinegro only needs a draw (by any score) to reach yet another final of the national knockout competition.

The Alvinegro’s goal was scored by striker Memphis Depay, in the 22nd minute of the first half. The assist was provided by Yuri Alberto, who received a cross from André Carrillo at the far post and just laid it off for the number 10 to find the net. With this, the Corinthians number 9 reached his third assist in 2025, matching Vitinho, Ángel Romero, and André Carrillo.

Yuri Alberto surpassed Gui Negão, Raniele, Fabrizio Angileri, and José Martínez, all of whom had two assists so far this year. The center forward is also the Alvinegro’s top scorer this season with 18 goals in 55 matches. Right behind him is Memphis Depay, who has now scored 11 goals in 48 matches this season.

The Dutchman is also the team’s top assist provider this year with 10 assists. Memphis Depay has also become the fifth highest-scoring foreigner for Corinthians, with 18 goals in 62 matches. The number 10 surpassed Argentine Mauro Boselli, who played for Corinthians between 2019 and 2020, scoring 17 goals in 72 matches.

Corinthians will return to the pitch this Sunday (14), at 6:00 p.m. (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena, against Cruzeiro, for the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinals. To reach the final, the Alvinegro only needs a draw.
