Corinthians election: André Negão’s lawyer files petition to void voting rules | OneFootball

João Oliveira, a Corinthians member and lawyer to pre-candidate André Negão, has petitioned to challenge parts of the club’s election rules for the 28 November vote. According to Meu Timao, he seeks an urgent injunction to nullify items set by the Electoral Commission.

He contests registration fees for candidates and slates, set at three family-membership months, R$ 330 per candidate, and 25 individual-membership months at R$ 241. He argues this creates a financial barrier.

He also challenges mandatory facial recognition and the need to update biometrics seven days before the poll. He says this conflicts with the statute, which requires members to be 18 or over, admitted for at least five years, and up to date with contributions until two months before the vote, 28 September.

He alleges irregularity in the refusal to release the full roll of eligible voters, and condemns potential penalties or slate cassation for acts by third parties. He adds that demands to clear arrears exceed statutory deadlines.

The filing seeks to suspend the fees and to guarantee voting to all eligible members who present official photo ID. It also asks for the voters’ list within 48 hours and a halt to undue restrictions tied to arrears and collective sanctions.

Oliveira is a long-standing figure at Parque São Jorge, and chaired the Fiscal Council from 2021 to 2023 under former president Duilio Monteiro Alves. He also served on Andrés Sanchez’s legal team, including during his term as a federal deputy from 2014 to 2018.
