Corinthians earned their first away victory of the 2026 Brasileirão, Rodrigo Garro sealing a win against Athletico Paranaense. It is the earliest they have managed an away success since 2023.

Last season they needed seven away games before overcoming Ceará, Talles Magno scoring under Dorival Júnior. By the 14th round they had drawn with Bahia, Atlético-MG and Grêmio, and lost to Palmeiras, Flamengo and Mirassol away.

The previous year, the first away win arrived only in the 10th trip, Ángel Romero on target as Ramón Díaz’s side beat Bahia in the 18th round. Before that there were draws with Atlético-GO and Athletico-PR, plus seven defeats to Juventude, Bragantino, Flamengo, Internacional, Palmeiras, Cruzeiro and Vasco.

In 2023, the opening away three points came at Santos in the 11th round, with Yuri Alberto and Ruan Oliveira scoring and Vanderlei Luxemburgo in charge. Until then they had lost all five trips, to Goiás, Palmeiras, Botafogo, Flamengo and América-MG.

In 2022 and 2021, away wins arrived at the first attempt, against Botafogo through Paulinho, Gustavo Mantuan and Lucas Piton, then against América-MG via Fábio Santos.

Corinthians visit Cruzeiro on Wednesday at Mineirão at 20:00 in the fourth round of the Brasileirão. Before that they face Portuguesa in a Paulista quarter-final on Sunday at Canindé at 20:30.
