Corinthians have strengthened their record in national finals after lifting the Supercopa do Brasil, taking their tally to nine titles from 16 deciders organised by the CBF. They beat Flamengo 2-0 on 1 February 2026 to secure the latest trophy.
According to Meu Timao, the club’s first national final came in 1976, a 2-0 defeat to Internacional in the Brazilian Championship. Their first crown arrived in 1990, when they edged São Paulo 1-0 in both legs to win the Brasileirão.
They added the 1991 Supercopa do Brasil with a 1-0 win over Flamengo, then lost the 1994 league final to Palmeiras. The 1995 Copa do Brasil was secured against Grêmio, 2-1 then 1-0, before league titles followed in 1998 and 1999 over Cruzeiro, 1-1 then 2-0, and Atlético-MG, 2-0 then 0-0.
In the 2000s, Corinthians fell to Grêmio in the 2001 Copa do Brasil final, beat Brasiliense to lift the 2002 edition, then lost the 2002 league final to Santos. They were beaten by Sport in the 2008 Copa do Brasil, but overcame Internacional in 2009.
More recently they lost the 2018 Copa do Brasil to Cruzeiro, and finished runners-up to Flamengo in 2022 after two draws. Victory over Vasco da Gama in the 2025 Copa do Brasil preceded the Supercopa success, making two national trophies in succession and equalling their best historical sequence, previously featuring the 1995 Copa do Brasil and the 1998 Brasileirão.
Other historic finals not organised by the CBF are excluded, such as the 1930 Taça Apea win over Vasco that earned the “Campeão dos Campeões” moniker. In 2026, Corinthians will still contest the Copa do Brasil, alongside the Brazilian Championship, run on a points system since 2003, the Paulistão and the Libertadores.
