Corinthians return to official action on Thursday night, hosting Remo at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. According to Meu Timao, the side have four confirmed absences and six players one booking from suspension.
Rodrigo Garro is suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards. In attack, Memphis Depay is on holiday following his World Cup with the Netherlands and remains in talks to extend a deal that runs until the end of this month.
Youngster Kayke has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will not play again until next year. Raniele also misses out after a fall in Monday's session at Neo Química Arena, suffering a knee cut and ankle swelling, and has not recovered in time.
There are further fitness calls being monitored. Centre-back João Pedro Tchoca is in the final phase of rehab after inguinal hernia surgery and has joined parts of full training, so he could feature in the squad. Left-back Hugo Farias and forward Vitinho began their transition work last week and are not expected to be available.
Six players are one caution from a ban for the next league match against Bahia, namely goalkeeper Hugo Souza, full-backs Matheus Bidu and Fabrizio Angileri, midfielder Jesse Lingard and forwards Kaio César and Yuri Alberto.
Corinthians began round 19 in 10th place on 24 points and, with the round ongoing, currently sit 13th. A win over Remo could lift them significantly, with the first half of the season potentially ending as high as seventh.
