Corinthians fans celebrate 47 years, Copa do Brasil trophy on show

Estopim da Fiel, one of the most traditional organized supporter groups of Corinthians, is celebrating 47 years of existence this Monday (5th). In a social media post, the entity celebrated the date, highlighting its “trajectory marked by grit, attitude, tradition, commitment, and unconditional love for Corinthians.”

The inspiration that led to the founding of the organized supporter group happened three years earlier, precisely on December 5, 1976. On that occasion, more than 70,000 Corinthians fans from all over the country traveled to see Corinthians at Maracanã, in the semifinal of the Brazilian Championship against Fluminense, in a match that became known for the “Corinthian Invasion.”

It is also worth mentioning that the organized group has maintained a samba school in the city of Diadema since 1995, winning Group 2 of the local carnival in 2001 and 2011 and the special group in 2002, 2006, and 2012. The theme of the title that brought the association back to the elite was the former president Vicente Matheus, and the last victory in the main division honored Ronaldo Fenômeno.

Also on social media, the organized group invited its members and Corinthians fans to celebrate the special date at its headquarters in Diadema. The traditional celebration will feature the presence of the Copa do Brasil trophy won last year and will start at 7:10 PM (Brasília time). The headquarters of Estopim da Fiel is located at São Jorge Street, 154/160, Center. Admission is free.
