Corinthians beat Flamengo 2-0 to win the Supercopa do Brasil at Mané Garrincha in Brasília, sending the Fiel into raptures.
According to Meu Timao, thousands of travelling fans staged a pre-kick-off mosaic and unfurled banners, including an old club crest over the national flag.
Gabriel Paulista opened his account for the club. Yuri Alberto then sealed it late by lifting the ball over goalkeeper Rossi in the final act, before racing to celebrate with the Corinthians support.
After the whistle, Gabriel Paulista was emotional as supporters saluted the new number three for his display. Chants for the number nine rang out following his stunning finish.
This is Corinthians' second Supercopa crown, adding to 1991 against Flamengo. They return to action on Thursday, 5, at 20:30 against Capivariano in the Paulistão.
