Corinthians supporters mounted coordinated nationwide protests on Tuesday at 19:10, the club’s 116th anniversary, unfurling #IntervençãoFiel banners to demand judicial intervention amid a financial crisis and allegations around the hierarchy.
According to Meu Timao, the action coincided with an inquiry by the São Paulo state prosecutor’s office into the possibility of judicial intervention at Parque São Jorge, with groups using the date to increase pressure for changes in management.
Organisers coordinated displays in plazas and at landmarks across multiple regions to raise visibility and drive support for a petition hosted on the movement’s official website.
The mobilisations were backed by a manifesto from Projeto Time do Povo, while figures linked to the campaign argued that the current turmoil made a full celebration of the anniversary impossible.
The organisers said the core message was that there is no solution without intervention, adding that fans reject leaders who, in their view, put themselves above Corinthians’ interests and want the club prioritised.
Demonstrations highlighted nationwide dissatisfaction beyond São Paulo, with groups including Fiel Macapá and Fiel Manaus in the North, Fiel Recife in the Northeast, Fiel Goiânia in the Centre-West, Torcedores de BH in the Southeast, and Fiel Maringá in the South.
The movement said the Intervenção Fiel petition has surpassed 25,000 verified signatures and seeks to pressure prosecutors and the judiciary to act, including removing the current board and appointing independent auditors to assess and try to stem the club’s financial crisis.
