Corinthians fans taunt Santos with 3D mosaic before Clássico Alvinegro | OneFootball

Corinthians host Santos at Neo Química Arena on Sunday, and before the 16:00 kick-off in the Brasileirão’s 25th round fans unfurled a 3D mosaic taunting their rivals.

According to Meu Timao, the display set the Mosqueteiro mascot in a room of television screens, beer labelled Fiel in hand and fried fish.

The screens revisited classics of the Clássico Alvinegro, including Dentinho and Ralf’s fishing celebration in 2010. Another showed Marcelinho Carioca’s 1996 strike after a pass from Tupãzinho and a deft lob before a fierce finish.

Also pictured were Carlos Tévez celebrating one of his three in the 7-1 of 2005, and Ricardinho’s last-minute winner in the 2-1 Paulista win in 2001 that sealed a final spot.

Further nods included Ronaldo Fenômeno’s chip at Vila Belmiro in the 2009 state final, Danilo’s goal in the 2012 Libertadores semi, and the 2013 Paulista line-up. Historic front pages featured too, notably “Massacre Corinthiano” for the 11-0 in 1920 and another recalling the 7-1.

It was the 39th fan mosaic at Neo Química Arena since 2014. Banners also needled Santos with “O maior alvinegro”, “Libertadores de 2012”, “2001 ainda lembro”, “Eterno 7-1”, “2009 foi um ano fundamental” and “11-0 sensacional”.

On the pitch, the derby offered Corinthians a chance to stop a two-match losing run. Fernando Diniz’s side started the round 10th on 32 points, and victory could take them to ninth and cut the gap to the G5, which secures a 2027 Libertadores place, to four points.
