Corinthians rank fifth among Brazilian clubs for World Cup goals scored by their players, according to ge.globo. Five footballers have found the net while representing the club.
The first was Baltazar, a club idol of the 1940s and 1950s, who scored against Mexico and Switzerland in 1950, then again versus Mexico at the following finals.
Next came Garrincha. After a brief stint at Parque São Jorge, he scored in the win over Bulgaria in the 1966 group stage, Brazil's only victory that year.
Rivellino leads the club's tally. In 1970 he struck against Czechoslovakia in the group, Peru in the quarter-finals and Uruguay in the semi-final, the only player to win the World Cup while at Corinthians. He also holds the competition record for goals from outside the box.
Sócrates added goals against the Soviet Union in the first phase and Italy in the next. He also featured in 1986, by then with Flamengo.
Carlos Tévez completes the list. The Argentine, pivotal in the 2005 title win, scored against Serbia and Montenegro, then still unified, in the 2006 group stage.
The 2026 finals could add to the tally. Memphis Depay is the club's only participant and, if he scores, would become the first European to net at a World Cup while at Corinthians. The Netherlands face Japan on 14 June, Sweden on 20 June and Tunisia on 25 June.
Top five: Vasco 29, Botafogo 28, Flamengo 21, Santos 17, Corinthians 13.
