Corinthians returned to training on Saturday morning, sharpening set pieces ahead of a Brasileirão Feminino trip to Flamengo.

The day began with physical work in the gym, then coach Emily Lima led small-sided drills focused on ball recovery, possession and finishing, according to Meu Timao.

Set plays were given extra attention after recent setbacks, including a 1-0 defeat to Palmeiras in the Paulistão Feminino and a Copa do Brasil elimination to Ferroviária, both featuring goals conceded from dead balls.

After the derby, goalkeeper Nicole Ramos said it felt ironic given how much Lima emphasises set pieces, adding they rehearse them every day and even tease the coach about it.

Midfielders Duda Sampaio and Andressa Alves trained as normal. The club said their recent absences were due to “controle de carga”.

Corinthians visit Flamengo at 18:30 on Monday at the Luso Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro. A win guarantees automatic qualification for the quarter-finals.
