Corinthians full-back Tamires made her first appearance on TV Globo’s Radar da Copa on Thursday, joining presenter Tadeu Schmidt and comedian Fábio Porchat to discuss the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
According to Meu Timao, the programme airs Monday to Saturday in the evening. Tamires’ debut came only hours after the tournament’s opener, Mexico beating South Africa 2-0 at Estadio Azteca.
She had announced the move on her social media last Tuesday.
This is not her first stint off the pitch. In 2022 she was part of Globo’s commentary team for the Qatar World Cup, and last year she featured on Globo Esporte to discuss the Brazil versus Japan friendly at Neo Química Arena later that day.
Women’s football has paused until next month because of the World Cup. Corinthians’ last competitive outing was on 30 May, a 1-0 win over Palmeiras in the third round of the Copa do Brasil.
Since then the Brabas faced the United States under-23s twice in friendlies, losing both. The squad have been given holidays from 10 to 24 June, with training due to resume on 25 June.
They will have around three weeks to prepare for competition resumption on 17 July, when they are scheduled to meet Ferroviária.
