Corinthians Futsal sign world champion defender from Brazil national team

Corinthians officially announced, on Wednesday, 17th, the signing of Marlon Oliveira Araújo to reinforce the futsal team for the remainder of the season. The 37-year-old defender arrives at Parque São Jorge with a resume full of victories.

"Marlon is now part of the Crazy Gang! The 37-year-old defender has played for Carlos Barbosa, Copagril, Inter FS, Palma, and ElPozo. Now, he will be part of the #CorinthiansFutsal squad! With vast experience, Marlon has built a prominent career in futsal. In Brazil, he had a great stint with Carlos Barbosa, where he won the Libertadores of the sport in 2017/2018. Internationally, he defended traditional Spanish teams such as Inter Movistar - Spanish League champion -, Palma Futsal - Uefa Futsal Champions League winner - and El Pozo Murcia. Most recently, he played for Yeesco, from Santa Catarina.

The defender also has significant achievements with the Brazilian National Team. Among the titles are the International Tournament of France, the Nations Cup, and the Copa America. In addition, he was part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2024, when he was voted the second-best player of the tournament.

Marlon is the third reinforcement for Corinthians in the second semester. Before him, pivot Rick and winger Renatinho had already been announced as new squad members.

Under the command of Fernando Malafaia, the experienced defender will be an option for the decisive stages of the National Futsal League (LNF) and the Paulista Championship. Timão returns to the court this Thursday, at 8 pm, against Marreco, in a delayed match for the LNF.
