Corinthians get offer from Turkish side for striker Yuri Alberto

Fenerbahçe, from Turkey, has sent Corinthians a proposal to sign striker Yuri Alberto, considered one of the main players of the club from Parque São Jorge. The information was initially published by Benjamin Back. According to the journalist, the offer is lower than the one made by Lazio, from Italy, which was valued at 22 million euros (R$ 137 million). At the time, the board considered the amount offered to be below what the club deems ideal.

It is worth remembering that Corinthians owns 50% of the economic rights of the center forward, with 5% of that share belonging to the player’s agent, André Cury, as per an agreement between the agent and the club. Zenit, from Russia, holds the other half of the player’s rights. According to Meu Timão, so far, the Alvinegro has not responded to the Turkish club’s offer.

Furthermore, this season, Corinthians will only agree to sell the player for 20 million euros (approximately R$ 123 million) for the 50% of the economic rights it owns. After the latest speculations, the player’s press office released a statement emphasizing that the athlete is focused on the Alvinegro and the remainder of the season, in competitions such as the Campeonato Paulista, Supercopa, and the Campeonato Brasileiro itself – see the statement at the end of this article.

Since July 2022 at Parque São Jorge, the number 9 has scored 78 goals and provided 22 assists in 212 games (181 as a starter), with 93 wins, 55 draws, and 64 losses – a 52.5% success rate. In the last season, he was the Alvinegro’s top scorer with 19 goals in 58 games and was fundamental in winning the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil, against Palmeiras and Vasco da Gama, respectively, scoring goals in both finals.

In 2024, he played a decisive role in the team’s surge in the Brasileirão (from the relegation zone to the Pre-Libertadores), scoring 15 goals and becoming the tournament’s top scorer. In total, he scored 31 goals in the year, becoming Brazil’s top scorer and earning a spot among the best in the national competition. Yuri Alberto is also the top scorer in the history of Neo Química Arena – inaugurated in 2014 – with 45 goals, and the team’s leading scorer in the 21st century.

Now, after the defeat in the Brasileirão opener, Corinthians turns its attention to the Supercopa do Brasil final. Next Sunday (1st), at 4pm (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will face Flamengo at Estádio Mané Garrincha, in Brasília.

In light of recent speculation in some media outlets about possible offers from clubs for Yuri Alberto, the player’s press office clarifies that there is no official information or formal communication regarding negotiations at this time.

The player has not been approached, nor has he received any indication of ongoing offers.

Yuri Alberto remains 100% committed to Corinthians, focused exclusively on daily work and the challenges of the season. The striker is fully concentrated on the remainder of the Campeonato Paulista, the Supercopa Rei, and the Campeonato Brasileiro, which are the club’s main objectives at the start of this year.
