Corinthians drew 1-1 with Estudiantes in the Libertadores on Wednesday, extending their winless run to four matches.
According to Meu Timao, it is the club’s first four-game sequence without a victory since February to March, when Dorival Júnior was in charge.
The slide began in late August with a 2-1 defeat at Coritiba, followed by a 1-0 home loss to Santos and a 2-1 reverse against Chapecoense, all in the Brasileirão, before the draw with Estudiantes.
Earlier this year, the team drew with Portuguesa and lost to Novorizontino in the Paulista, then drew with Cruzeiro and were beaten by Coritiba in the league.
That poor run stretched by five more fixtures, with draws against Santos, Chapecoense and Flamengo, plus defeats to Fluminense and Internacional, totalling nine without a win. Dorival was sacked and Fernando Diniz took over.
Between July and August under Diniz, Corinthians nearly repeated the pattern, drawing Bahia and Athletico Paranaense in the league and losing to Internacional in the Copa do Brasil round of 16 first leg. They won the return but still went out.
Corinthians now visit Flamengo at the Maracanã on Sunday at 17:30, in the 26th round of the Brasileirão.
