Corinthians host Cruzeiro on Sunday in a straight fight for a G5 place, kick-off 19:30 at Neo Química Arena. Cruzeiro are sixth on 33 points. Corinthians have 32 and would reach 35 with a win to move into the G5.
Cruzeiro chase a third straight league win and have three victories and a draw from five. Corinthians are unbeaten in six.
Cruzeiro ended a six-year wait for the State title by beating Atlético Mineiro at the Mineirão. They face Flamengo in the Libertadores last 16, the first leg ended 1-1. The return is at the Maracanã on Wednesday 19, and the XI is likely to be heavily changed.
Forward Wesley, a Corinthians academy graduate with 85 senior games before joining Al-Nassr in 2024, arrived at Cruzeiro in July after talks to return stalled. If he features, it will be his first match against Corinthians.
Right-back Fagner played for Corinthians from 2014 to 2024, joined Cruzeiro on loan in 2025, then signed permanently. He won two Brasileirões and made 578 appearances. This will be his first meeting with Corinthians at the Neo Química Arena since leaving, having appeared in the 1-1 draw in the first round.
Cruzeiro list at least five absences. Cássio is treating a left knee injury and is unlikely to face his former club. Gabriel Pec has a fractured left tibia, Léo Aragão a right thigh injury, Luis Sinisterra a left thigh problem, and Kaique Kenji is suspended.
