According to Globo.com, Corinthians are negotiating a contract extension with midfielder Gui Amorim, one of the club’s standout academy prospects.

The 18-year-old is under contract until 31 July 2027, meaning he could sign a pre-contract with another team from the start of next year. The board has opened discussions with his representatives to secure a longer agreement.

The proposal under consideration would run to the end of 2028 and includes a clause for an automatic two-year renewal. Talks are being led by executive Marcelo Paz and are expected to be finalised in the coming days.

Last year, Amorim signed an addendum that improved his salary and increased his release clause. His current international transfer clause stands at 50 million euros, about R$ 326 million at current rates.

He spent nearly two months in the medical department with a grade two medial collateral ligament injury in his right knee. The midfielder returned on 28th, against Red Bull Bragantino, in the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-20.

Although still registered in the youth set-up, Amorim trains with the senior squad at CT Joaquim Grava. He has been named in first-team squads but is yet to make his debut.
