Corinthians in talks, waiting on Gabi Zanotti’s decision about 2026 future

Corinthians wrapped up the women’s football season last Sunday (14th) as runners-up in the state championship. Even though the competitions on the field have ended, planning for 2026 is already underway behind the scenes at the club, with negotiations involving contract renewals and squad definition. One of the main unresolved situations is that of midfielder Gabi Zanotti.

With a contract valid until December 2025, the number 10 has not yet decided whether she will remain at Parque São Jorge next season. According to information from the portal Meu Timão, Corinthians is in talks with the player, who has received a proposal from the club’s board and has also attracted interest from other teams in Brazilian football.

In recent public statements, Gabi Zanotti said she had not been approached by the club for formal talks. On another occasion, the player also mentioned the lack of early dialogue regarding renewal. However, people connected to Corinthians indicate that internal discussions about her staying began as early as June.

Mid-season, the Corinthians board contacted athletes considered strategic by the coaching staff and who were nearing the end of their contracts, requesting that they submit proposals with values, contract duration, and other conditions. All responded with their suggestions, except Zanotti.

In September, the club reached out to her again, once more requesting her terms. The midfielder’s response, however, came only recently, when she asked Corinthians to present their proposal first. With the terms already sent, the decision on the player’s continuity now depends on her choice.

Gabi Zanotti is one of the main figures in the recent history of Corinthians Women. In total, she has played 251 matches wearing the black and white shirt, scored 84 goals, provided 31 assists, and won 18 titles. In the 2025 season, she was named the best player of the Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship, both won by the club.
