Corinthians will be without left-back Juliete for Saturday’s 18:00 meeting with Internacional, the final round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino first phase.

The club said in a statement that she has left Achilles tendinopathy and will not feature. The injury was confirmed shortly before kick-off.

Midfielder Andressa Alves also misses out as she continues physical transition after a left posterior leg injury sustained in early August.

Juliete last played 10 days ago in the Campeonato Paulista against Mirassol, starting in a 4-1 win. In Corinthians’ most recent outing, a 1-1 draw with Bahia in the Brasileiro, she was an unused substitute.

This season she has made 21 appearances, 12 of them starts, with 15 wins, one draw and five defeats. With her on the pitch, Corinthians have collected 73.02 per cent of the points available.

Corinthians go into the Internacional game aiming to secure top spot, which they currently hold with 38 points. Emily Lima’s side are already through to the knockouts and will host the second leg of the quarter-finals.
