Corinthians lead Santo André in Paulista women's basketball semis

Corinthians faced AD Santo André on the night of this Friday (21), at the Celso Daniel Park Gymnasium, for the first leg of the semifinals of the Paulista Women's Basketball Championship, and won by a score of 78 to 58.

Coach Bruno Guidorizzi fielded the following team to start the match: Yasmin, Licinara, Alana, Thayná, and Tássia. The bench had the following options: Bia Oliveira, Jamile, Glenda, Tayná, Rhayssa, Jaqueline, and Júlia Mansilha.

Corinthians, despite a low conversion rate of chances, took the lead in the first half with Ana Beatriz. In the second period, the Alvinegro maintained control of the match and kept the lead on the scoreboard. In the penultimate and last period – already in the second half – the Furiosas took advantage of the opponent's technical errors and extended their lead on the scoreboard.

The score for each period was: 18 to 12 / 38 to 23 / 59 to 43 / 78 to 58 – all with Corinthians triumphing. If they win the second game, the Furiosas advance to the final. In case of a loss, a third game will be necessary, which will eventually be at the Wlamir Marques Gymnasium, since the Corinthians team had a better campaign in the competition.

The teams will face each other again next Monday (24), at 7 pm (Brasília time), at the Wlamir Marques Gymnasium, for the second match of the semifinal of the Paulista Women's Basketball Championship.
