Corinthians opted to keep Fernando Diniz after briefly weighing a change following the 3-1 defeat to Fluminense on Sunday.

According to Globo.com, football executive Marcelo Paz considered replacing the coach despite publicly backing him on Thursday, but the idea was quickly dismissed.

The call became definitive in the Neo Química Arena dressing room, where squad leaders Gustavo Henrique, Rodrigo Garro and Memphis Depay met Paz to ask that Diniz remain in charge.

The players believe the work could progress after the FIFA window, with the return of striker Yuri Alberto and more time to train and adjust the team.
