With Fernando Diniz settling on a consistent core, several Corinthians players have barely featured in 2026 up to the World Cup break, Globo.com reports.
Jacaré, Alex Santana, Bahia and Felipe Longo have each played one match. Fabrizio Angileri, Charles and Gui Negão, previously more involved, have seen minutes drop in recent months.
The group of seldom used options also includes Hugo Farias, who is recovering from a knee injury, Kauê, João Pedro Tchoca, who negotiated with Torino in Italy but failed his medical and has been in the treatment room since early April, and recent arrival Pedro Milans.
Among the least used, Jacaré has nine minutes, Alex Santana 17, Bahia 49 and Felipe Longo 101, while others have made between three and 12 appearances.
Memphis Depay, Kaio César, Kayke and Zakaria Labyad are on 14 games each. Despite limited action, there is an expectation that most will gain more minutes before the end of 2026. The exception is Kayke, who is recovering from a knee injury and is only expected to play again in 2027.
If Memphis renews his deal, he could reclaim a starting place under Diniz. Corinthians have already played 37 matches in 2026 and still have at least three competitions ahead, the Campeonato Brasileiro, Copa do Brasil and Conmebol Libertadores. With a severe financial crisis limiting signings, the club intend to keep the core group, so those on the fringes should still have chances to convince Diniz.
