Corinthians lifetime councillors Ademir de Carvalho Benedito, Alexandre Husni and Guilherme Gonçalves Strenger have asked the Tribunal de Justiça de São Paulo (TJ-SP) to suspend the Assembleia Geral (AG) set for 19 September at Parque São Jorge to vote on Estatuto changes.
According to Meu Timao, the new convocation, signed by Conselho Deliberativo (CD) president Romeu Tuma Júnior, schedules the AG from 9:00 to 17:00 to decide on 10 amendments. The councillors argue the club issued a fresh call without fixing problems flagged by a prior court ruling.
On 16 June, the TJ-SP suspended an AG planned for 20 June, a cancellation later formalised by the CD. The trio say Corinthians published a new edital on 17 August and, after the base reform text was rejected by 93 votes to 60 in the CD, its highlights were then treated as independent items.
They also contend that 15 highlights discussed in the CD were reduced to 10 in the new edital, with wording changes and groupings not authorised by the body. They add the club acknowledged an objective doubt and a methodological asymmetry during the case, which they say supports keeping the suspension.
The filing asks for immediate suspension of the new edital and the AG, a ban on fresh convocations, and a daily fine of at least R$ 100,000. It also seeks recognition of a possible act against the dignity of justice, referral to the Ministério Público de São Paulo (MP-SP), and submission of minutes and documents evidencing corrections.
