Corinthians agreed on Wednesday to loan left-back Diego Palacios to Ecuador’s Universidad Católica.
According to Globo.com, the Ecuadorian club will cover his wages and Corinthians say the move saves R$ 2.6 million per year.

Palacios had been on loan at Karpaty in Ukraine, and that agreement was terminated so he could join a club in his home country.
Signed under Augusto Melo’s administration in early 2024, the Ecuadorian was not in the coaching staff’s plans.
He made only four appearances for Corinthians, then missed an extended spell with two serious injuries.
In Ukraine he featured once, playing 67 minutes, and did not appear again.
His contract with Corinthians runs until 31 December 2027.
