Corinthians look to extend strong record against Cruzeiro

This Wednesday (24), Corinthians returns to the field for the Brazilian Championship, facing Cruzeiro, this time for the fourth round. The match takes place at Mineirão, at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), and the Alvinegro Paulista heads into the game looking to maintain its good record against the team from Minas Gerais.

Corinthians and Cruzeiro have faced each other 98 times in their histories, with Timão coming out victorious in 41 of them, drawing 24, and being defeated on 33 occasions. In addition, there have been 237 goals scored in the history of this clash, with 124 for Corinthians and 113 for Cruzeiro.

The last meeting between the clubs brings good memories for Corinthians. The teams faced off on December 14, 2025, in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinal, at Neo Química Arena. Despite losing 2-1, Timão defeated Cruzeiro on penalties and secured a spot in the final after having won the first leg 1-0. In the final, played against Vasco, Alvinegro was crowned champion.

Now, Timão faces Cruzeiro looking to achieve its third consecutive victory in the Brasileirão and stay in the fight for the top of the table. In the first three rounds, the team was defeated by Bahia and won the next two matches, against Red Bull Bragantino and Athletico-PR, occupying fifth place in the standings with six points.
