Corinthians look to extend unbeaten run vs Palmeiras in women's football

This Monday (12th), the Corinthians women's team visits arch-rival Palmeiras at Arena Barueri, in a match valid for the 12th round of the Paulista Women's Championship. The Brabas come into this decisive duel with a history of dominance over their rivals.

Corinthians and Palmeiras have faced each other 27 times, with the Alvinegro Paulista winning 16 matches and the arch-rivals six times, along with five draws in the remaining encounters. Additionally, 71 goals have been scored in these clashes, with 48 for Corinthians and 23 for Palmeiras.

The Brabas have further improved their record against the rivals in the last Derby. On August 3rd, during the fifth round of the Paulista Championship, Corinthians hosted the rivals at Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, and won 1-0, with a goal by Gabi Zanotti.

Currently, Corinthians and Palmeiras occupy the first and second positions in the Paulista Championship, respectively. With 30 points — five more than the rival — the team from Parque São Jorge maintains a solitary lead, which cannot be threatened regardless of the outcome of the next match.

After the clash with Palmeiras this Monday, Corinthians will still face Ferroviária and Realidade Jovem before starting the knockout phase of the competition. As table leaders, the Brabas emerge as the main favorites for the title, fueled by their recent Libertadores victory.
