Corinthians lose out in draw with Fluminense in Brasileirão Feminino

On the evening of last Friday (20th), Corinthians hosted Fluminense at the Neo Química Arena in a match valid for the second round of the first phase of the Women's Brazilian Championship, and ended up drawing with a score of 2 x 2. The result left the Corinthians team in fifth place in the national tournament table with four points accumulated.

In addition to the frustrating result on the field, with a goal conceded in the last play, Corinthians also recorded a loss of R$ 38,619.46 playing at their stadium in this particular match, according to figures released in the financial report of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). Only two sections were opened for the match: North and West.

Even so, the operational cost of the match was R$ 135,872.72. The final amount was impacted by smaller expenses, such as ambulance, staff, fire brigade, sound system, equipment rental, portable toilets, and refereeing. Corinthians also had to pay R$ 7,714.15 in taxes and R$ 162.59 related to the mandatory CBF insurance.

It is worth noting that Corinthians has had to play away from Estádio Alfredo Schürig, Fazendinha, due to structural problems at the venue, which, since mid-May last year, has been banned from hosting matches at night. According to president Osmar Stabile, the club is seeking a partnership to make the maintenance of the lighting feasible, since the Alvinegro cannot afford the work due to its high level of debt.

In the draw against the team from Rio, 5,081 fans were present, generating a revenue of R$ 105,400.00. After subtracting the costs to hold the match, the club's loss amounted to R$ 38,619.46. Corinthians, in the midst of the FIFA break for the women's game, will return to the field only on March 13th, at 9:30 p.m. (Brasília time), for the third round of the Women's Brasileirão.
