Corinthians are five matches unbeaten in the Brasileirão after round 21, keeping their momentum despite a nervy night in Itaquera. In Meu Timao’s reporting, it was a stumble, even as the unbeaten sequence continued.

The run tops last year’s four-game streak registered between May and June.

This five-game spell began with a 1-0 win over Atlético-MG at Neo Química Arena on 24 May, then a 3-1 victory away to Grêmio six days later. After the World Cup pause, on 23 July, they beat Remo 3-0 in Itaquera, before drawing 1-1 with Bahia in Salvador on Sunday. It concluded with a 0-0 against Athletico-PR at Neo Química Arena on Thursday night.

Matching their previous high will be demanding, that benchmark is 12 without defeat between October 2024 and April 2025, comprising 10 wins and two draws. That surge included nine straight victories which lifted the club from the relegation zone of two years earlier to a seventh-place finish.

That sequence actually started with a 2-2 draw against Internacional at Neo Química Arena, and carried into the following Brasileirão. Corinthians drew 1-1 with Bahia on opening day and beat Vasco 3-0, only losing in the next round to Palmeiras, 2-0.

Attention now turns to the Copa do Brasil last 16, with home and away ties against Internacional in quick succession. The first leg is at Beira Rio on Sunday at 19:30.
