According to Meu Timao, Corinthians hosted representatives of Gaviões da Fiel at the Neo Química Arena on Thursday, at the club’s invitation, to review possible expansion works, with president Osmar Stabile in attendance.

The inspection focused on removing seats in the South Stand. The change would increase capacity there from 7,406 to 9,083, a long-standing request from the organised supporters’ group and part of a wider programme of structural works.

Plans also include adding lateral sections in the East Upper, modelled on National Football League-style bleachers. The intervention is projected to bring roughly 2,000 extra seats.

If all works are completed, overall capacity is expected to surpass 50,000, up from 48,905 at present.

Corinthians told the group the proposals still require approval from the relevant public authorities. During the visit, Gaviões also requested a new access route to the North Stand, close to the court already within the Arena complex.
