Corinthians midfielder called up by Venezuela for Nations League matches

This Saturday (8), the Venezuelan Women's National Team announced coach Ricardo Belli's squad for the team's upcoming FIFA date commitments, featuring a Corinthians player: midfielder Dayana Rodríguez. She will be with her national team from November 28 to December 2, when they face Ecuador and Peru in the Women's Nations League.

Although she is only 23 years old, Day Rodríguez has considerable experience with her national team, having debuted for the senior squad in 2018 and represented Venezuela in the 2022 Copa América and the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. Before that, she also played in the youth categories, competing in the South American Championship and the World Cup in 2016, both at the U-17 level.

The Brazilian Women's National Team squad has not yet been announced, but it is likely that other Corinthians players will be called up for the FIFA date period. The Brazilians will play two friendlies against Norway and Portugal on the same dates as Venezuela’s matches—the country is not participating in the Nations League as it will host the World Cup and is already qualified for the tournament.

Dayana Rodríguez was one of Corinthians' signings for this season, transferring after standing out at Grêmio in 2024. So far, she has played 33 matches for the Brabas, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
