Corinthians midfielder has busiest season of his career

Corinthians hosted Santos last Saturday, September 20, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, in a match valid for the ninth round of the Paulista Women's Championship qualifying phase and won by a score of 1-0. Midfielder Dayana Rodríguez was one of the starters in the match and reached an impressive individual milestone.

Signed by Timão at the beginning of this year, the Venezuelan reached her 25th game for the club, making this the season with the most matches played in her entire career. So far, she has started 18 games, with 19 wins, five draws, and one loss, totaling a success rate of 82.67%.

Until then, the season in which Dayana Rodríguez had played the most was 2024, when she wore the Grêmio jersey. Throughout the year defending the club from Rio Grande do Sul, the Venezuelan took the field 24 times.

In addition to the 25 games played for Timão, the midfielder also has four other games played for the Venezuelan National Team in 2025, all of them in the Copa América, held in July.

The trend is for Dayana Rodríguez to increase these numbers even more, as Corinthians still has the Copa do Brasil, Libertadores, and Paulista Championship ahead. The midfielder is considered an important piece in Lucas Piccinato's squad and will have even more playing time after the sale of Yaya to PSG, France.

Now, the Brabas will turn their attention back to the Copa do Brasil. The team faces São Paulo in the quarterfinals of the competition next Wednesday, 24th, at 6 pm, at the Gabriel Marques da Silva Stadium, in Santana de Parnaíba. It is worth remembering that the match is knockout.
