Corinthians midfielder hits career-best for goal involvements

Corinthians faced Botafogo last Sunday afternoon (30), at the Neo Química Arena, in a match valid for the 36th round of the Brazilian Championship and ended up drawing 2 x 2. The first goal for Timão was scored by midfielder Raniele, who reached an important personal milestone.

Just seven minutes into the match, number 14 took advantage of a poor clearance by goalkeeper Léo Linck and scored after receiving a pass from midfielder Dieguinho. With this, Raniele reached his third goal in 2025, making this his season with the most goal contributions in his career, as he also provided two assists in 47 matches played.

Besides the goal against Botafogo, the midfielder also scored in the 2 x 1 defeats to Huracán-ARG, in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana, and 3 x 1 to Santos, in the 28th round of the Brasileirão. The assists occurred in the 2 x 0 victory over Palmeiras, in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil round of 16, and in the 2 x 1 defeat to Bahia, in the 20th round of the national tournament.

Until then, Raniele's career season with the most goal contributions was in 2023, when he played for Cuiabá. That year, he scored three goals and provided one assist in 35 matches played.

Signed by Corinthians at the beginning of 2024, the midfielder did not score or provide any assists in his first season with the club, despite quickly establishing himself as a starter for the team.

Although he is only finishing his second year at Timão, Raniele has already played 105 matches wearing the club's jersey. The midfielder was a starter for the team in winning the 2025 Paulista Championship, where the Alvinegro Paulista defeated arch-rival Palmeiras in the final.
